Mining Investment Guide in Fujairah


The Mining Investment Guide in Fujairah was issued in December 2018, and it is considered the first comprehensive mining guide in the UAE. The reason for this issuance is to create media windows in which the investors in the mining sectors can see a clear picture of the mineral wealth inherent of the emirate of Fujairah. In addition, providing a database for all investors and demonstrating the industrial transformation policy adopted by Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation (FNRC) in accordance with the vision of the Emirate of Fujairah and the United Arab Emirates in the process of industrial transformation in the field of rocks to produce value-added industries within the Emirate of Fujairah.

In the first section, the guide introduces data and information about mining in the Emirate of Fujairah. The guide presents a brief overview of the FNRC and its granted authorities. It also describes the role of the FNRC in organizing the mining process, and preparing the policy for the exploitation of natural resources. Furthermore, the guide outlines the effective participation of the FNRC in community, attraction of the mining investment, and the prominent services provided by the corporation to the customers, which are characterized by high specifications and precision using single window system for permits and licenses. In addition, the guide describes the natural resources of the Emirate of Fujairah in detail, and the geographical location of the emirate, which is distinguished by its view on the open and secure water bodies. The guide also explains the geology of the emirate of Fujairah and the various rocks and geological structures in the emirate.

In addition, the guide describes the mineral ores and industrial rocks in the Emirate of Fujairah, hence it highlights the mineral resources in the emirate, and its presence areas and characteristics, studies and surveys carried out by the Ministry of Energy and Industry and British Geological survey, and other surveys carried out by the mining companies, as well as the cooperation between FNRC, the UAE University and the Arab Mining Company. All these studies and research showed the presence of valuable minerals in the Emirate such as copper, chromite and platinum group. The maps and the results of the analysis of the samples were attached in detail.

In the second section, the guide demonstrates the industrial rocks of high quality in the emirate, their chemical, physical and metallurgical characteristics, and the studies carried on them. It also describes the mining areas in the Emirate, and the existing industries such as rock wool, cement industries, clinker and lime, as well as potential future industries and opportunities for investment. The guide also outlines the investment procedures and facilities undertaken by the Corporation in order to encourage investment, facilitate licensing and permits procedures, and encourage scientific research in the Emirate.

In the third section, the guide reviews the functions of the various technical departments of the corporation such as geology and mining, survey and spatial services, environment, health and safety, permits and licenses, and customer happiness services. The guide illustrates the role of the technical departments in regulating mining exploitation, applying the mining and environmental laws, and maintaining a pure and healthy environment for the sustainability of natural resources.

In the last section of the guide, there is contact information for strategical partners which includes ministries and local departments, mining establishments such as crushers, quarries, and factories in different mining sectors in the Emirate.
