Objectives

1. 1.Conducting studies and geological research and various surveys for the development of the rock and mineral sectors in particular and exploitation of the natural resources that are located in the boundaries of the Emirate's lands in general and whether on the surface or in the interior or in the territorial waters and the adjacent economic zone.
2. 2.To regulate the work related to licenses, rights, agreements and privileges for rocks and minerals to facilitate the procedures for establishing projects for the exploitation of minerals in a manner that encourages domestic and foreign investment in the rock and mineral sectors while stimulating fair competition in the rock and mineral market; eliminating any discrimination or detailed treatment of any party; For all existing and new operators, as well as investors for improved services
3. 3.Monitoring all activities and environmental impact assessment to ensure consumer protection, public safety and the environment in respect of all surveys, exploration and mining in accordance with the laws, regulations and technical ../assets in the country.

Functions of the Corporation

1. 1. Preparing the general policy for the exploitation of natural resources in accordance with the requirements of the economic and social development program in the Emirate and presenting them to the Governor for approval.
2. 2. Conducting various geological researches, studies and surveys, surveying, prospecting, exploration and optimal utilization of natural resources within the Emirate's regional boundaries and adjacent economic zone.
3. 3. Building an integrated information system in the fields of minerals and rocks and according to the available possibilities.
4. 4. Prepare, maintain and review specialized maps and create a map library where all information is available.
5. 5. Public awareness of the important role of the exploitation of rocks and minerals in the economic and social development of the Emirate.
6. 6. Provide consultation and information in the fields of natural resources, including minerals and rocks, according to the available possibilities.
7. 7. Shopping and promotion of investments in the oil and mining sectors locally and internationally.
8. 8. Establishment, supervision and marketing of geological reserves.
9. 9. To take care of the Emirate's interests in matters related to the natural resources of rocks and minerals and the survey and prospecting in particular and to exploit the natural resources located within the boundaries of the Emirate's lands in general and whether on the surface or in the interior or in the territorial waters and the adjacent economic zone and valleys. It may not be surveyed, excavated, exploited, transferred or traded unless the necessary approvals are obtained for that purpose from the Corporation in accordance with the provisions of this Law and the regulations and instructions issued thereunder.
10. 10. Representation of the Emirate in meetings related to rocks and minerals in particular and exploitation of natural resources in general.
11. 11. Propose draft laws relating to rocks and minerals in particular and exploitation of natural resources in general and collect relevant information available to the institution and governmental or private bodies to benefit from the institution's duties.
12. 12. Strengthening the role of the private sector and encouraging research and development.
13. 13. Work on removing barriers in coordination and cooperation with different parties in accordance with the laws and legislation in force.
